HISTORY CAMPS season 2020
CAMP1
Stratford Historical Society is accepting registrations for our annual
STEP BACK IN TIME history camp scheduled July 6th to 10th.
The camp will run from 9:00 to 12:30 on the grounds of the Captain David Judson House, 967 Academy Hill Road.
Elementary (grades 4 and up) Middle School and High School students are welcome to attend. Groups are arranged according to age
The week long camp offers hands on activities each day and will explore life in the 1700's. Related hands on activies include weaving, candle making, churn our own butter, writing with quills as well as other crafts related to family life.
Graduation exercises will take place on the final day. Campers will conduct tours of Judson House, in period costumes from our costumes department.
The campers may invite anyone to the graduation on Friday and there will be refreshments and colonial games.Campers will become part of our Junior
Society. They may volunteer to help with events or take part in special activities throughout the year.
The fee is $150 per child and if not a member of the Society one adult must paya $20 membership fee good for one year and includes six newsletters a year, guest speakers and free admission to Judson House tours during June to the end of October when the house is open to the public on Sunday in the summer.

From 5th grade through high school called EXPLORING HISTORICAL TOPICS
Offered July 20-24. Cost is $150 and one $20 family membership to the society. This membership fee applies to non-members and is good for one year with the same benefits as above. Time 9:00-1200
TOPICS FOR CAMP :
1. Vikings
2. Slavery and the UnderGround Railroad
3.Revolution War Spies
4. Salem witch trials
5. Walking tour of the historic district . We will see many old homes and sites where the first settlement of Stratford began.You will hear tales and legends about the town.
Each day there will be related hands on progects to go along with the theme for the day.
Camp fills up fast call now to save a space. Fee must be paid by June 30th 2020.
